Flower Mound Family Photographer
You know when you buy a house you figure out the exact area you want to be in and what you can afford and then go on the house hunt. You hope you get some cool neighbors but that’s always just a hope. Well we finally had some amazing neighbors move in down the street and our girls became instant friends! And then sadly they have already moved away back to Colorado. But I can’t blame them to move back closer to family. They were so fun to get together with. And thankfully we were able to squeeze in a family photoshoot in Flower Mound, TX literally the evening before they moved.
Photography Poses versus Prompts
They were telling me about their previous photoshoot not being the best experience. The photographer wasn’t very instructive, seemed rushed, and they just felt confused and lost. Ahh this made me cringe! This is never how I want a client to feel during a session and say after a session. Yes lifestyle photography isn’t “posed” but giving clients prompts is very different than poses. Prompts are giving playful instruction as to what I want you to do that I know photographs beautifully and pulls out real laughs, real smiles, real love, real emotions! Never do I expect a person/family to know how to pose themselves. My goal is for photoshoots to always be fun and comfortable. The best texts I get from wives after family photoshoots is that their husbands and kids had fun and enjoyed the session!
Sunny Sunsets or Overcast Evenings Family Photoshoots | Flower Mound
So most people want and prefer the beautiful warm, golden sunset light for their pictures. Hence why it’s called Golden Hour and when you’ll see the most photographers out. The golden hour lighting is stunning. Y’all know how much I love a pretty sun flare in my pictures. But there is something so soft and pretty about overcast sessions! The coloring is so pretty and even. And I love getting images that are mostly sky because then the background is a perfect white backdrop to bring your attention to the people. So maybe these beautiful family images will convince you to keep your session and not reschedule if the weather is forecasting it to be overcast!
