Dallas Maternity Photoshoot
Motherhood is so magical, no matter how you become a mother or the example you have as a women to others around you. Pregnancy is tough and can be harder for some and easier for others, but no matter how difficult it is such a beautiful gift. Often times women have no interest in capturing maternity pictures (I always thought I would be this way!) but I believe that no matter how you feel or how much weight you might’ve gained, it is such a spectacular time in your life that should be captured and remembered.
I’ve known this pretty lady for about 5 years now and was so excited when she told me she was expecting baby number 3, and that it is a little boy! When we were trying to find a date that worked to take her maternity pictures, she quickly realized that her husband’s work schedule was not going to work out with the photoshoot (busy season for him). And I love that she didn’t let it bother her and she went ahead and did pictures with just her little girls, which they turned out incredible and so sweet. I love mommy/child pictures, and these were extra special since there were only a few weeks left before baby boy comes and changes the girl dynamic in the house.
This photoshoot was taken place in North Dallas, TX in my favorite spot of Flower Mound, TX.
She was so easy-going and open to any location that I had in mind. I ended up choosing my favorite location because I knew I wanted some nature and some sunset lake pictures. And this location lets there be such a variety in scenery while not having to drive to get both.
My favorite touch was the hand-made matching floral crowns that she made earlier in the day for her and her daughters. They elevated the entire photoshoot and made the girls feel so special. And the crowns coordinated perfectly with the white wild flowers that were all over. The girls loved picking the wildflowers and handing them to their mama. By the end of the session they had made themselves beautiful bouquets which you’ll see in the pictures.
This session truly was picture perfect. Not only was the weather perfect, we had the whole place to ourselves, and the sunset was stunning. I love playing with the sunlight and sun flares to make sessions glow and feel so warm. The girls were also on their best behavior which is something I never expect when photographing kids. My friend even commented that this was the best they have ever behaved for family pictures and she credits the majority of it due to her not having any stress or expectations on them being in any of the pictures if they decided to act out or not be interested. But it’s like they knew how angelic they looked because they had no complaints to take hundreds of pictures. I think they also love their mama so much, which is obvious in the pictures, and also were so happy and excited any time I asked them to hug and kiss their baby brother. I have no doubt they will be the best big sisters!
Baby brother can be making his appearance any day now and I am so excited to photograph him when he arrives!
