Why Motherhood Sessions are so Important to do!
Flower Mound family photographer
If you’re like most moms, you are almost always the one taking pictures instead of being in them. Most husbands don’t see a moment and think “I need grab a picture of that!” like us moms do. Granted there are the occasion husbands that do but they are very much the exception haha. So moms- I’m sure your camera roll on your phone is loaded with pictures of your kids but how many pictures of you are there with your kids? If it’s like my phone a small percentage, and the quality isn’t that great!
Trust me I get it. It’s hard to get in the picture. You don’t want to bug a passing stranger to try and snap some pictures of you with your kids and then your kids are fighting you and don’t want to take a picture so it just turns into a mess. So let’s take that awkwardness out of the equation and take intentional motherhood pictures.
Sure kids love to look at pictures of themselves and also look at videos of themselves, but you know what they really want to see more than anything (especially when they are older looking back on pictures)? Pictures of them connecting with their mothers.
As mothers we know our little kids just don’t stay little (trust me, I keep telling my daughter she isn’t allowed to get any bigger and every day she reminds me that she is growing and getting older! Nooo!) So on top of ensuring that I get family pictures taken every year, it is also on my must-have list to create intentional photographs of just me with my kids. And on top of that, taking pictures with my kids individually.
My Flower Mound Motherhood Photography Session Goal
My passion of motherhood sessions will soon be developing into this goal: to host quarterly motherhood mini session dates throughout the year. (Hopefully these turn into monthly sessions!) Often times milestone photoshoots occur just within the first year for a baby, which yes I love capturing those quickly changing and growing babes. But I want milestones to be captured beyond the first year and not just be captured by themselves but with their mom. So my hope is to do quarterly motherhood & milestone mini sessions in studio next year! I am so excited about them!
