Dallas/Mckinney Lifestyle Newborn Photography Session
Y’all I can not get over how special this session was! So I had been chatting with this pretty mama for months discussing her Fresh 48 session in the hospital and by the time she had her sweet baby boy I felt like we were close friends who just hadn’t met yet haha. And then COVID-19 hit and flipped everything upside. She had this sweet boy right when everything started closing down, locking down, and everyone was going into quarantine. So we switched to a “baby homecoming” session. I masked up, and we made the best of the new situation. She said her 3-year-old was very expressive and sweet and she wasn’t lying. This boy was the happiest, proudest big brother! And he was completely smitten with his baby brother the moment he saw him. Everyone was tearing up at the reaction & meeting of these brothers.
I’m not sure if Fresh 48 sessions in the hospitals will ever be allowed again after COVID, which would be SO sad. But if they are forever over, I hope baby homecomings become popular to capture the reaction of those siblings meeting their new baby brother/sister for the first time!
Dallas In-Home Family Newborn Lifestyle Session
We took the opportunity to have a mini lifestyle newborn session in their beautiful home, and baby Baylor didn’t make a peep the entire time. This sweet toddler was so happy to have his mom and dad home, along with constantly telling his baby brother “you’re the cutest baby I’ve EVER seen!” The nursery was Texas-themed so obviously I was in love with it.
Photography set ups during an In-Home Family Lifestyle Session
I love to look around someone’s home during an in-home session and get inspiration for pretty photo-ops. Generally I focus on the living room, master bedroom, and nursery but everything varies with how the natural lighting is in the home. Since it was a cloudy day we were able to use the outdoor areas! They had this adorable chair in their backyard that was the perfect cozy family spot along with their pretty front porch. It was fun to document their new home from the front since they recently moved to Texas.
